Eire Og were privileged to entertain our friends from Beauly Shinty Club, Inverness in Scotland to Ennis last weekend.This was the 4th time the two clubs had entertained each other, two each in Ennis and Beauly
On Saturday a compromise rules match was played before a large interested crowd with Eire Og gaining victory by 30-23.The visitors however had their revenge on Sunday in the swap sticks match with a winning score of 11 points to 9.
Although the two games were the focal point of the weekend,a very packed social occasion was also arranged by a very busy committe chaired by the tireless Ursla Guilfoyle.A marquee was erected to entertain the visitors and a large number of Eire Og supporters,
with an excellent buffet supplied by Mary Coote on the Saturday.
Pat McInerney was the cook/chef for a B.B.Q on the Sunday and once again he and his band of willing helpers excelled themselves.
After a weekend of sport and entertainment our friends from Beauly departed on Monday for their long trip home and a well earned rest with a promise that Eire Og would once again visit them in the near future.
Many thanks to all who supported the events of the weekend and made it such a success.
